Businesses earn positive reviews on MAPTO much like they build their reputations in the local community: by delivering exceptional products, services, and customer experiences. MAPTO is committed to showcasing content that reflects genuine consumer experiences.

Authenticity and reliability are fundamental.

Under MAPTO’s policies, businesses cannot request reviews from customers, and consumers can only share their firsthand experiences. We also employ an automated recommendation software to identify and promote the most trustworthy content.

Combatting misinformation is a priority.

Misleading information is unfortunately prevalent online. MAPTO has dedicated teams and policies in place to safeguard our community from misinformation. Discover more about our commitment to ethical and environmental standards.

Removing policy-violating content

MAPTO’s User Operations team diligently reviews content and platform activity through proactive and reactive moderation efforts. In 2023, they removed over 26,500 reviews for policy violations, including threats, inappropriate content, or hate speech. Additionally, they carefully vetted every new business page submitted to MAPTO, rejecting more than 32,800 potential pages associated with spammy behavior violating MAPTO’s policies.
